New Kid On the Block - Lady Mia

We recently rescued a new fur babe! An 8 month old Great Pyrenees. Her name is Mia and was sadly with a young couple who are getting divorced and also not taking care of their two new pups. Another family near where they live took in the other guy who was a mixed breed and very hyper. We knew about Mia as the original owners were neighbors to some of our family. They were taking care of her and trying to find her a good home. And here we all are now. She came home Sunday and yesterday I worked at home so I could keep an eye on everyone and how they were adjusting. They have adjusted OK, but she does have some food aggression, not bad, but she thinks it is all hers and doesn't want everyone else to eat it. lol

Today they are all home alone....hoping the house is still there when I get home and she has not chewed it all up. While in the shower she had managed to find one of Jes' socks and a bag of cough drops I had on the nightstand by the bed. PUPPY LIFE!

I will share more pics later and let you know how the house ends up when I get home later!

January Check In

I just wanted to do a quick blog and check in on everyone! Yesterday was my birthday, the big 40...but it is all good. Although it feels like I got here too fast. I have lots more to do though, so looking forward to another 40 years!

How is everyone's January shaping up so far? We are pending some sketchy weather ourselves tomorrow, and well Tennessee is messed up with seasons, we have them all in one day often. The state shuts down I tell you!

Keep on plowing through you guys, HEAD UP, SHOULDERS BACK and YOUR EYES ON YOUR DREAMS! 

Blog Thoughts

Got some thoughts brewing, really motivated to get off my creative arse! Thinking do I keep pushing through using this blog, which I do love, it needs some improvements no doubt, and it would help if I was more consistent. But should I re work a whole lot or just focus on what I got, new address new blog or just refocus and keep going. I love the history here, but I do get bored with the lay out, the colors and just need some jazz. But maybe that jazz is just decent content, what a thought!

Creamy Chicken Chili

I thought I would share my recipe for the chili I made back in October, since it was apparently good people said. I also must admit, I liked it! And I am a pretty picky eater.  ENJOY and please let me know what you think if you make it!

Today I won...

Hello!!!! I always plan to blog WAY more than I ever do, like i write blogs in my head when I cannot sleep at night, but never actually then put them here, where I should. really at night when I cannot sleep I should just open the app up and blog, but I do not, I do try really hard to sleep but, yeh I digress!

Short Story, it is hard to blog sometimes! 

BUT today I won the chili cook off contest we had at work for our annual chili cook and Halloween contest. SERIOUSly surprised and impressed with myself as this is my first time ever making chili of any kind in my life! I made a creamy chicken chili recipe I found off pinterest and added some zingy flare as when I cook (as rare as that is), I do like to get experimental!

Won a gift card, so that was nice. :)
